A brief biography Jeff Meltzer:
Jeff Meltzer
has been named Chairman of the newly formed Public Relation Committee

It’s been a long time since anyone
has been called Mr. Infomercial, but Jeff Meltzer is now the hands
down heir apparent to that title. As one of the acknowledged
creators of the modern day infomercial, For over 20 years, the name
Jeff Meltzer has been synonymous with the highest standard of excellence
and professionalism in broadcast & non-broadcast television
especially Direct Response TV (DRTV). Jeff has seen the entire evolution
of the DRTV genre unfold before him. He recognized as one of the
leading DR Producer/Directors in the nation. His company: Meltzer
Media Productions has the most experienced and versatile direct
response production staff to support him. Jeff lends his expertise
to many facets beyond the mere production and post-production of
a given project. He brings marketing and financial experience along
with a winning track record with sales of over a billion dollars.
The following is a short summary of Jeff’s legendary DRTV
career.
With a few former ad agency honchos, Jeff helped
to create the first skin care infomercial ever (1985 -Love Your
Skin-Chae Basics). This program eventually grossed over $100 million
in sales and allowed the start up marketing company, Synchronal,
to become the granddaddy of all direct response companies in the
world. This mega success sparked the ‘gold rush’ of
infomercials that Jeff produced throughout the rest of the 80’s.
Brainstorming with other industry pioneers, Jeff
began re-developing another new format: direct response short form
TV commercials. He found immediate success with several campaigns
for Sports Illustrated including the legendary Football and Sneaker
phone campaigns. He then went on to create successful workout videos
featuring famous swimsuit models such as Elle MacPherson, Cheryl
Tiegs, and Rachel Hunter. These campaigns aired in every market
in the U.S. and Canada.
In 1991, Jeff teamed with Executive Producer, Tom
Peckenham, to create the first ever infotainment television series;
“Mad Math Jeff and Tom won the regional Emmy for Best Children’s
Cable TV Series. The series had three consecutive runs on The Learning
Channel.
In1992, Jeff teamed up again with Executive Producer,
Tom Peckenham and produced the first infomercial travel series,
“The Vacation Store.” The show was shot in over sixty
locations and successfully sold vacation packages during commercial
breaks. It enjoyed an uninterrupted run everyday on the Travel Channel
for two years.
Since the mid –nineties Meltzer Media Productions
has produced over 2000 DRTV TV and radio campaigns. These campaigns
span every product category and all price ranges. MMP is now considered
the most knowledgeable and cutting edge Company of it’s kind
in the Direct Response industry. Their client list reads like a
who’s who of the infomercial world. Last year (2007) MMP had
the highest grossing exercise show in the world (The Bean) and 3
other top 10 short form spots. For more about Jeff go to Meltzermedia.com
